The money raised by the PTO is mostly used to subsidize the cost of student field trips (we plan for approximately $25 per student, and about 600 students). We also contribute to budgets for Art, Music, Gym, & Library activities.

2015-16  PTO FUNDRAISING PROGRESS

The direct sales fundraiser (held in late fall) is the PTO's most financially rewarding activity. During the 2014 fall sales event, our students' gross sales were over $10,000!

 

This fall, we will be asking the students to sell products from Claire's Gourmet.

 

Sales packets were sent home with students on 9/24. The fundraiser sales will run through October 9, with delivery of items by 10/28/2015.

Fall & Spring Bookfairs

Each year, the PTO hosts 2 Book Fairs.

 

The Fall Book Fair is a fundraiser, and typically raises between $1,500-$1,800.

 

The Spring BOGO Book Fair is not a fundraiser. The PTO opts to forgo profits  so we can give one book free for each purchased book.

 

Box Tops
 

The PTO organizes monthly contests for our Box Tops fundraising project. Homerooms win prizes by submitting the MOST Box Tops for their grade. In the past, we've hosted ice cream parties, cotton candy parties, and pizza parties for the winning classrooms.

 

Its an easy way to stay involved and provide financial support to our school without any extra out-of-pocket money.

We are hoping to earn $5,000 for Smyrna Elementary this year with Box Tops.

Color Run

The SECOND ANNUAL SES COLOR RUN will be held on Saturday morning, April 9, 2016.  Our first Color Run, held in Spring 2015, was a fantastic learning experience. The kids had a blast and we raised over $2,000.

 

We are hoping to siginificantly increase the size & scope (AND profits) of our Spring 2016 Color Run!

 

Our hope is that this active and engaging event grows to become a major source of funding for our PTO in the years to come.

Quarter Auction
 

The Annual Quarter Auction is a night of great fun for the community, as well as provides additional funding for our students. We solicit donated items and gift cards from local businesses and invite the whole community to attend our event. Paddles are purchased in advance or at the door and the donated items are put up for bid. The PTO also provides a refreshments stand.

 

Last year, we raised almost $1,000 from the Quarter Auction.

Dinner Nights Out

Dine at scheduled restaurants on certain dates, mention the SES PTO Dinner Night Out, and a portion of  your bill is donated to our school.
